British F3 eyes Pau return in 2012

The Pau Grand Prix could form part of next year's British Formula 3 Championship calendar, according to this week's AUTOSPORT magazine. Series organisers will hold discussions with teams, suppliers and Pau GP boss Patrick Peter about adding the revived street race, which formed part of the FIA International F3 Trophy this year. Series manager Lisa Crampton said: "Pau would be a fabulous event for British F3, but we need to negotiate with the organisers and teams." Pau has only once before staged around of the British F3 Championship, in 2006

Auto GP cancels Bucharest round

Auto GP has reduced its calendar to seven rounds after cancelling its proposed event at Bucharest on August 19-21. The series was due to make its debut on the streets of the Romanian capital, but has now opted against an event as the track has not gained the FIA grade 2 licence necessary to host such powerful single-seaters. "We still think that Auto GP would have provided a massive show in the streets of Bucharest, but we have commitments towards our partners, our teams and our drivers and we couldn't accept so many question marks with just two months to go," said series boss Enzo Coloni.

Rosberg keeping expectations in check

Nico Rosberg says Mercedes GP should not get too carried away with Michael Schumacher's strong showing in Canada a fortnight ago - because the outfit is not yet in the position it wants to be in.
